Dear Louise,

Since none of my acquaintances lives nowhere near as astray as you do, beloved one, I am but skill-less in the art and craft of sending this type of package, the very same kind of which you are now the fortunate owner, hence the delay you may have found unsustainable. Despite this incapacity of mine (I sound like Cicero), I tried, and succeeded, since you’re reading those humble sentences.

All this flesh and blood was shed, dear, in the sole purpose that you’d be able to be delighted by two proses: mine and the one of Mr Jordan, a man I’m bold enough to call Master in Second, Tolkien remaining the yet-to-be dethroned king of my fantasy readings. Perhaps I misplace my trust with this old man, yet, though it has been a while since I’ve read him, he was the faithful fellow of my long-past (sniff) childhood and stays on the very top of my Top 10 (which you will acquire in due time).

To say a few word about him we both, I believe, worship, he is, I know you’ve heard, kinda dying, proving all my prayers vain : don’t let this fact disturb your reading ; he will, he said it, complete book 12 (temporary title A Memory of Light), and even has plans for a brand new series ! As a matter of fact, I read on his website that his IQs or TQs were decreasing, this appearing to be good news. So, as I said, let it go, and jump fearlessly ahead into the books I’ve send, and in the unnamed world most call Randland.

The exact volume you stopped, you told me, for I have offered in the past such a trade we are now entertaining ourselves with (this I say, since your part of the bargain, if I dare say so, remains to be accomplished, and hopefully it will be, in the shape of a fair trade of similarly lend books), yet it was lost. Don’t worry, I am used to this great fallibility of my memory. Anyhow, I am sending books 6 and 7, hoping those are the ones your heart longs for and, in the remote possibility they would not be, the prequel which, though less grand and epic as the main series, I found delightful and quite entertaining. Needless to say you will too.

When you’re done with Master Jackson, I have a respectable collection of books (mostly in French, for now…) loaded with SF as well, which you may consider an open-door library. Moreover, I’ll buy in August plenty of the Hugo Award winners (in English of course), all well-respected men and women you would surely appreciate. As for I, in the mean time, I am still stuck in Oliver Twist and wish for the kid to die every page.

Well, that will be all for today, I certainly don’t want to delay any longer your joyful reunion with Rand, Mat, Perrin, Ninaeve, Egwene and oh so many co. Enjoy !

 Your dearly devoted Will
